Hi. I am doing psychology at AS Level, on OCR board, and my teacher asked me to research the meaning of “dependant measure design”, but I have looked everywhere and cannot find the meaning?! Please can somebody tell me what it is, and what it means? 10 points for best answer.

I am unsure of what your prof is asking. Perhaps it is a trick question? You might research designs with dependent variables, and suggest he meant that. ; )

New design approaches in science, design and architecture have replaced a top-down description of form by bottom-up rules of formation: materials carry information within them about how to behave, grow, combine, assemble, and proliferate. Rules of Six is an open exploration of self-assembly and modularity across scales. Through a large wall relief, an algorithm running live in the gallery, and images of nanostructures, the project presents an experiment in material formation tied to the potential of six-sided symmetries common to the molecular lattices of a large range of mateirals. The structures presented are not carved or composed; they have grown thorugh simple rules and interactions that re much like the ones molecules follow in the lab.
Design and the Elastic Mind, on exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art from February 24-May 12, 2008, explores the reciprocal relationship between science and design in the contemporary world by bringing together design objects and concepts that marry the most advanced scientific research with attentive consideration of human limitations, habits, and aspirations.
